Dził Ditł'ooí School of Empowerment, Action (DEAP) &
is seeking a compassionate and committed Part-Time School Social Worker to support the social, emotional, and academic well-being of our students and families. This in-person role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working in Native communities and understands the importance of trust, relationships, and cultural sensitivity. While licensure is not required, experience working with youth and families is strongly preferred. Applicants must live within approximately one hour driving distance of the school.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and intervention for students experiencing emotional, social, or behavioral challenges
  • Work directly with families to build trust and strengthen home-school partnerships
  • Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to develop plans that support student success
  • Facilitate or refer families to community-based services when needed
  • Support school-wide initiatives related to mental health, attendance, and student engagement
  • Maintain documentation of student support activities and services provided
  • Participate in team meetings, school events, and professional development
 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field preferred
  • Deep understanding of or personal connection to Diné culture, values, and community life
  • Experience working with youth and families, especially in school or community settings
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
  • Culturally responsive and respectful of Indigenous traditions, language, and values
  • Must live within 1 hour of the school and have reliable transportation
  • Bilingual or Navajo-speaking applicants are encouraged to apply

Job Details: The position is 3 days per week in person 8-4:30 pm MT.

Salary & Benefits: 
The starting compensation for this role is $60-70K.
